An elderly man became the victim of a hit-and-run on Jalan Ahmad Yani, Banyuasri Village, Buleleng, Bali. The Satlantas Polres Buleleng is currently investigating and pursuing the motorcyclist who fled after striking the victim, who is from Panjer, Denpasar.

Head of Public Relations for Buleleng Police, Iptu Yohana Rosalin Diaz, revealed that the incident occurred around 6:00 PM WITA on Sunday (2/8). As a result of the incident, the victim, named Nyoman Agus Daan Bagiarsa (64), sustained injuries to his head and face.

“The victim suffered a bump on the back of his head and bruising on his right eye. He is currently conscious and receiving treatment at Kertha Usada General Hospital in Singaraja,” Yohana said on Monday (3/8/2026).

Based on the initial investigation, she explained that the accident began when the perpetrator was riding a motorcycle from west to east on Jalan Ahmad Yani. Upon arriving in front of SDN 1, 2, and 5 Banyuasri, the victim intended to cross the road from north to south.

The motorcyclist, whose identity is not yet known, is suspected of not paying sufficient attention to traffic conditions, resulting in the collision with the pedestrian. However, instead of stopping to provide assistance, the motorcyclist left the scene and fled eastwards.
