YOGYAKARTA: Senja Utama executive train, which left Jakarta on
Friday evening bound for Yogyakarta, arrived four hours late at
its destination after being withheld at the village of Kemiri in
Kulonprogo, Central Java on Saturday evening after it ran over an
elderly man.
Purnomo, spokesman for state-owned railway company PT KAI,
confirmed the accident on Saturday and said the victim was 78-
year-old Kromodimejo.
"The accident was inevitable because the train was not able to
stop in time to avoid the victim," he said, citing the victim was
hit while crossing the railway in his village. --Antara
