The Indonesian Hajj Organising Committee (PPIH) in Saudi Arabia has prepared special arrangements for elderly, disabled, and high-risk health pilgrims during the peak Hajj rituals in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina (Armuzna). Haris Muslim, Musyrif Diniyah of the PPIH in Saudi Arabia, stated that all special-needs pilgrims must still perform wukuf at Arafah on 9 Dhu al-Hijjah, as it is a fundamental pillar of Hajj that cannot be omitted. “Regardless of the arrangement, they must be present at Arafah for their Hajj to be valid,” Haris Muslim said in Makkah. He explained that Islamic law provides flexibility for pilgrims with physical disabilities or certain illnesses in performing other Hajj rituals. He noted that Islamic jurisprudence includes the principle that hardship begets ease, allowing elderly, disabled, and high-risk health pilgrims to adjust their rituals according to their health conditions. The PPIH in Saudi Arabia has defined five categories of pilgrims eligible for special services during Armuzna: those with high-risk illnesses, the elderly, disabled individuals, obesity, and their companions.
