PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia at El Tari Kupang International Airport, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), recorded 42,295 passenger movements in the last two weeks. This figure represents a 26 percent increase compared to the same period in 2025. General Manager of El Tari Kupang Airport, Teguh Darmawan Saiman, revealed that the passenger increase was recorded during the 12 days of the 2026 Lebaran Air Transport Post implementation, from 13 to 24 March 2026. Teguh stated that aircraft movements also increased by 33 percent compared to last year. “(Passenger movements) grew 26 percent compared to the same post period last year in 2025 with 33,548 passengers,” said Teguh in a written statement received by detikBali on Wednesday (25/3/2026). “During the 12 days of the 2026 Lebaran Post, there were 460 aircraft movements, whereas last year there were only 346 aircraft movements,” he added. Based on preliminary data, Teguh said the peak passenger movement during the Lebaran outbound flow at El Tari Kupang Airport occurred on Wednesday (18/3). The number of passengers served on H-3 Lebaran that day was 4,691 people. “Meanwhile, the predicted peak return flow is estimated on Saturday, 28 March 2026, or H+6 Lebaran, with 3,819 passengers,” Teguh explained. Teguh described the conditions at El Tari Kupang Airport up to H+2 Lebaran as still conducive despite the increased aircraft and passenger movements. According to him, all airport stakeholders continue to be on alert until the peak return flow. “All field personnel have implemented 3S + 1C (safety, security, service, and compliance) as well as hospitality in every service provided to users and prospective passengers, who have followed the advice to arrive at the airport two hours early,” Teguh emphasised. Teguh stressed that focus on security and order at the airport continues to anticipate actions that could disrupt the comfort of users. The airport management is also coordinating with related stakeholders to ensure smooth operations during the 2026 Lebaran Air Transport Post implementation. “Intense coordination is carried out to ensure every operational decision is made in accordance with applicable safety procedures,” he concluded.
