The Chairman of the PDI Perjuangan District Committee in Jogja, Eko Suwanto, reflected on the celebration of Idul Adha 1447 Hijriyah. He stated that the humanistic message is that all humans must be prepared to sacrifice and selflessly assist others throughout their lives.

‘Muslims worldwide are observing Idul Adha 1447 Hijriyah, performing Hajj for those able, and carrying out sacrifices. The humanistic message is the importance of selflessness in helping others,’ Eko said in a written statement on Wednesday, 27 May 2026.

Eko added that the observance of Idul Adha should foster social solidarity amid global crises and economic pressures. He said the occasion serves as a time for collective reflection to nurture social solidarity, selflessness, and care for others.

‘The spirit of mutual cooperation during sacrifices is a strong social capital for us all to share and assist those around us,’ Eko said.

On another note, Eko mentioned that this year, the PDI Perjuangan District Committee in Jogja will sacrifice five cows and four goats.

‘The committee plans to sacrifice five cows and four goats, hoping to benefit the community. We urge all cadres to embrace the spirit of Idul Adha by cooperating to help others in daily life,’ he concluded.
