Eko Suwanto Highlights Importance of Practising the Prophet's Example in Daily Life
The commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday is an important momentum for all Muslims to increase their faith and emulate noble character. Through activities that increase the recitation of shalawat as an expression of love and longing for the Prophet Muhammad, it is hoped that blessings can be obtained.
“Happy commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday. Let us continue to increase our faith and piety by emulating and carrying out acts of worship, increasing the recitation of shalawat, and continuing to maintain harmony among religious communities. Let us emulate the noble character of the Prophet Muhammad to become better individuals, a better Indonesian nation, and a better world,” said Eko Suwanto, Chairman of Commission A of the Yogyakarta Special Region DPRD from the PDI Perjuangan faction, in a written statement on Wednesday (26/8/2026).
The Chairman of the Yogyakarta branch of PDI Perjuangan explained that in the current era, joint efforts to always be guided by the noble teachings of the Prophet Muhammad are highly relevant to implement. In addition to steps to strengthen faith and piety, it is also important for Muslims to develop a sense of tolerance among religious communities in daily life and in national life.
One of the best practices in applying the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad that is important to actualise is giving attention to the poor, providing for orphans and vulnerable groups so that they can live decently.
“The example and noble character demonstrated by the Prophet Muhammad need to be actualised in daily life and in national life. Let us always practise the teachings and noble character, and always maintain good relations among fellow human beings and mutual respect, and maintain tolerance in national life,” said Eko.
