Eka's Story: A Comfortable Homecoming Journey with PNM
For some people, mudik is an annual routine. However, for others, the journey home to the village holds simple hopes: arriving safely, without worries, and reuniting with beloved family.
In 2026, the Mudik Gratis Bersama BUMN programme, initiated by the Badan Pengaturan BUMN (BP BUMN) together with Danantara, returns to facilitate the public. Nationally, the programme serves 116,688 mudik participants heading to various regions in Indonesia. PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) participates by sending off 564 participants, particularly from the community and PNM customers.
Among the hundreds of participants is the story of Ibu Eka Warni, a PNM Mekaar customer from Tangerang. For Ibu Eka, mudik is not just a journey home, but an effort to stay strong amid the health condition she faces. She lives with autoimmune Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), which makes long journeys, especially by private vehicle like a motorcycle, full of challenges.
The desire to return home has long been harboured. The last time Eka mudik was two years ago. Now, the opportunity finally comes in a different way—safer, more comfortable, and full of peace thanks to the free mudik programme from PNM.
Day to day, Eka runs a home-based business that not only helps the family economy but also empowers neighbours around her. Amid limitations, she continues to strive to remain productive and provide benefits to her surroundings.
“I am so grateful to be able to join the free mudik with PNM. Alhamdulillah, we can mudik safely and comfortably. I am also grateful to be able to run a business and increase income thanks to PNM’s assistance, and then get free mudik. This Ramadan is truly blessed for me,” said Eka.
For PNM, this mudik programme is not just about facilitating travel, but also bringing a sense of safety and comfort to customers who have struggled throughout the year.
PNM’s Corporate Secretary, Dodot Patria Ary, emphasised that this programme is a form of the company’s commitment to providing broader services to the public.
“The Mudik Gratis Bersama PNM programme is our service to the community, especially customers, so they can undertake the mudik journey more safely, comfortably, and arrive safely to meet family in the hometown. Behind every journey, there is a story of struggle that wants to reunite with family. Therefore, we want to ensure this journey can be undertaken more calmly, with mutual care, until safely reaching the destination,” said Dodot.
Through this programme, PNM not only brings journeys but also brings hope. Behind every bus seat is stored a story of longing to be fulfilled, waiting family, and new spirit that grows again upon arriving in the hometown.
