Bandung – The Bandung City Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) reported eight trees toppled by heavy rain and strong winds that struck Bandung. The downpour and gusts lasted around one hour on Wednesday, 4 March 2026.

BPBD data shows trees fell at SDN 265 Bandung Kulon, Jalan Cibadak gang Ibu Aisah, Cibadak Sub-district. A tree also fell on a car on Jalan Sulanjana, Tamansari.

Trees toppled within the Tegalega park area, at Alun-Alun Ujungberung, and on Jalan Cipadung. Trees fell at Alam Pagarsih, Sukahaji, Babakan Ciparay.

A tree fell at Alun-Alun Regol and another on Jalan Ambon, Citarum Sub-district, Bandung Wetan. ‘Incidents per hour at 14:00,’ said Amires Pahala, Head of Prevention and Preparedness at Bandung BPBD, when contacted on Wednesday, 4 March 2026.

He said the data remain provisional as staff are still compiling information and the figure may rise. Evacuations of fallen trees are ongoing.

Earlier, the Bandung Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said gusty wind potential existed in West Java on Tuesday 3 March 2026 to Wednesday 4 March 2026. Several maritime areas in West Java were expected to be affected.

‘The early warning for gusty winds in West Java Province remains valid for 3-4 March,’ said Teguh Rahayu, Head of BMKG Bandung, on Tuesday 3 March 2026.
