Eight train journeys from Jakarta cancelled following Bekasi incident
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daerah Operasi (Daop) 1 Jakarta has cancelled eight train journeys departing from Gambir and Pasar Senen stations in Jakarta on Wednesday due to ongoing adjustments for normalising train consists following an accident in Bekasi.
“KAI Daop 1 Jakarta apologises for the continued cancellation of several train journeys today. This is part of the effort to normalise train consists to ensure subsequent train services operate on time, safely, and smoothly,” said Manager of Public Relations for KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, Franoto Wibowo, in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.
He listed the cancelled journeys from Pasar Senen station as follows: KA Brantas (Pasar Senen-Blitar) departing at 14:10 WIB, KA Jayakarta (Pasar Senen-Surabaya Gubeng) departing at 17:10 WIB.
Then, KA Majapahit (Pasar Senen-Malang) departing at 17:40 WIB, KA Bogowonto (Pasar Senen-Lempuyangan) departing at 18:10 WIB, and KA Bangunkarta (Pasar Senen-Jombang) departing at 12:25 WIB.
Meanwhile, the cancelled journeys from Gambir station are: KA Parahyangan (Gambir-Bandung) departing at 07:30 WIB, KA Tambahan (Gambir-Yogyakarta) departing at 17:15 WIB, and KA Purwojaya (Gambir-Cilacap) departing at 07:00 WIB.
In addition, KAI is providing options to prospective passengers to reschedule or switch to other available train services.
“We assure that all customers affected by the cancellations will receive full refunds or be facilitated to use other train journeys according to availability,” Franoto stated.
Furthermore, he explained that KAI Daop 1 Jakarta is continuously working to normalise train services gradually, prioritising safety aspects and passenger service.
