Eight KRL journeys disrupted following brawl

KRL Commuter Line journeys on the Bogor–Jakarta Kota route, and vice versa, were still reported to be held up on Friday (21/8/2026) at 5.00 p.m. Western Indonesia Time. The disruption was caused by a brawl near level crossing JPL 14 at Manggarai Station on Friday afternoon.

KAI Commuter Public Relations Manager Leza Arlan said the company deliberately halted KRL journeys on the Bogor–Jakarta Kota route. The measure was taken for the safety of passengers and train operations.

“Commuter Line Bogor journeys from the direction of Manggarai and from the direction of Tebet have been temporarily halted. This step was taken to maintain the safety of users and the security of Commuter Line journeys,” he said in a statement on Friday.

Leza added that KAI Commuter station security officers had coordinated with relevant parties. Officers were also positioned near the location of the brawl to secure the railway line.

According to him, eight Commuter Line Bogor journeys bound for Jakarta Kota were delayed as a result of the brawl. In addition, six Commuter Line journeys bound for Bogor were still held up and unable to pass the location of the brawl.

KAI Commuter therefore urged all users to always prioritise safety. Users were also asked to follow the instructions of station officers.

“KAI Commuter also urges all users to always follow the instructions of station officers and not to force themselves to board if the train is already too crowded, as well as to monitor operational information regularly through the official social media account @commuterline or the C-Access application,” Leza said.

Based on information on KAI Commuter’s X account at 6.05 p.m. Western Indonesia Time, the brawl near the railway line between Manggarai and Pasar Minggu stations had been secured by officers. Commuter Line journeys on the Bogor route had resumed and were in the process of clearing the train queue.
