Eight killed in truck-minivan collision

Eight people were killed after a truck crashed into a chartered minivan in Bantarwaru subdistrict, Haurgeulis district in Indramayu regency, some 10 kilometers from Cirebon municipality. All eight victims were passengers in the minivan.
The victims are: Narso, 48, the chartered van's driver; Egi, 55; Wajiyo, 43; Sijam, 38; Sijam's son Navis, 9; Sutari, 43; and Nani, 10. Narso and Egi were residents of Purwokerto municipality, Central Java, while the remaining victims were residents of Banjarnegara regency, also in Central Java.
One victim is as of yet unidentified.
Chief of Indramayu Police Adj. Sr. Comr. Jhoni Suroto said on Monday night that the driver of the truck, Budianto bin Slamet, a resident of Bekasi municipality of Greater Jakarta, had been arrested for questioning.
The accident occurred early morning on Sunday, but the press were not informed of it until Monday afternoon.
