Eight killed in road crash

CIREBON, West Java: Eight people, including two infants, were killed when two buses collided head on along the Cirebon-Tegal highway on Thursday, Antara reported yesterday.

Twenty-five other passengers were being treated at the Gunungjati hospital here for severe injuries. The bodies of the dead victims were taken to the hospital's morgue.

The drivers of both buses were among those killed.

One bus, the Sono, was on its way to Semarang and the other, the Damri, was heading for Jakarta when the crash occurred. Witnesses said that both buses were traveling at high speed.(emb)
