Jakarta – The Special Detachment (Densus) 88 Antiteror of the Indonesian National Police has once again uncovered terrorist network activities in Indonesia. This time, eight individuals suspected of being members of the Jamaah Anshoru Daulah (JAD) network, affiliated with the global ISIS terrorist group, were arrested in Central Sulawesi province.

The arrests were carried out in an early morning operation on Wednesday, 6 May 2026, in two different areas, namely Poso Regency and Parigi Moutong Regency.

Spokesperson for Densus 88 AT Polri, Commissioner of Police Mayndra Eka Wardhana, explained that the operation took place from 01:30 to 03:30 WITA.

“Densus 88 AT Polri has conducted law enforcement activities against eight individuals from the Jamaah Anshoru Daulah network affiliated with the global ISIS network in Central Sulawesi Province,” he said on Wednesday, 6 May 2026.

From the operation, police secured eight suspected perpetrators with the initials R (32), AT (29), RP (32), ZA (37) who were arrested in Poso Regency, as well as A (43), A (46), S (47), and DP (39) who were arrested in Parigi Moutong Regency.

Based on initial investigations, the suspects are believed to have been actively spreading radical ideology through social media. The content disseminated includes images, writings, and videos related to terrorist propaganda.

In addition, investigators also suspect their involvement in other activities related to the terrorist network, although this is still being further explored.

“Densus 88 AT Polri is continuing to develop and deepen the investigation against the eight suspects,” Mayndra said.

This enforcement is part of the ongoing efforts by security apparatus to prevent the spread of radical ideology, while maintaining national security stability from terrorism threats.
