Eight Fire Engines Deployed to Tackle Pallet Warehouse Blaze in Bekasi

A total of eight fire engines from various posts were deployed to tackle a blaze that struck several wooden pallet storage depots in Kedungwaringin Village, Bekasi Regency, on Wednesday evening. Bohir, Commander of Platoon 3 of the Bekasi Regency Fire and Rescue Service, stated that four units were initially dispatched before reinforcements were requested from other posts due to the magnitude of the fire. He explained that the highly flammable materials caused the flames to rapidly engulf the semi-permanent structures, also destroying several nearby semi-permanent houses belonging to local residents. After battling the fire for over an hour, officers managed to extinguish it. The number of affected buildings is still being recorded. Although the fire is out, fire engines remain on standby at the site to cool down affected areas and prevent reignition. Traffic congestion occurred in both directions during the incident, exacerbated by residents and motorists stopping to observe, but traffic flow has since gradually returned to normal. The exact cause of the fire is not yet known, and the case remains under police investigation. Bohir confirmed there are no reports of casualties at this time.
