Eight Defendants in RPTKA Extortion Case to Face Judge's Verdict Today
JAKARTA - Eight defendants in the alleged extortion case related to the processing of the Foreign Worker Employment Plan (RPTKA) will face the judge’s verdict today, Wednesday (22/4/2026).
“The Ministry of Manpower case, defendants Suhartono et al., agenda for verdict,” stated Andi Saputra, Spokesperson for the Central Jakarta District Court, in his statement on Monday (30/3/2026).
Haryanto (HY), as Director General of Binapenta at the Ministry of Manpower for the 2024-2025 period and also as Special Staff to the Manpower Minister, and Wisnu Pramono (WP), as Director of Control for Foreign Worker Utilisation (PPTKA) at the Ministry of Manpower from 2017-2019, are each prosecuted with a potential prison sentence of 9.5 years.
Gatot Widiartono (GTW), as Head of the Sub-Directorate for Maritime and Agriculture in the Directorate General of Placement Development for Workers and Expansion of Employment Opportunities, is prosecuted for 7 years in prison.
Devi Angraeni (DA), as Coordinator for Eligibility Testing and Approval of Foreign Worker Utilisation Control, is prosecuted for 6.5 years in prison.
Former Director General of the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker), Suhartono, faces the lightest sentence of 4 years in prison.
The defendants are suspected of enriching themselves by extorting those who needed RPTKA documents.
The details are: Suhartono Rp 460 million; Haryanto Rp 84.72 billion and one unit of Innova Reborn car; Wisnu Rp 25.2 billion and one unit of Vespa Primavera 150 ABS A/T motorcycle.
Devi Rp 3.25 billion; Gatot Rp 9.48 billion; Putri Rp 6.39 billion; Jamal Rp 551.16 million; and Alfa Rp 5.24 billion.
In total, the money received by the defendants amounts to Rp 135.29 billion.
They are charged under Article 12 letter e in conjunction with Article 18 of the Corruption Eradication Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) first in conjunction with Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code as per the first indictment.
