Eight Defendants in RPTKA Case Demanded 4 to 9.5 Years in Prison
JAKARTA - The Public Prosecutors (JPU) have demanded prison sentences ranging from 4 to 9.5 years for eight defendants in a case of alleged extortion related to the processing of the Plan for the Use of Foreign Workers (RPTKA). “We, as public prosecutors, conclude that the actions carried out by the defendant Haryanto fulfil the elements of the charged offence, namely committing corruption jointly,” stated the prosecutor during the trial at the Central Jakarta Corruption Court, on Monday (30/3/2026). The heaviest demands were made against Haryanto and Wisnu Pramono, each for 9.5 years in prison. The lightest demand was imposed on Suhartono, for 4 years in prison. The prosecutors assessed that the defendants’ actions do not support the government’s programme in eradicating corruption offences, thus serving as an aggravating factor. The defendants were found to have violated Article 12 letter e in conjunction with Article 18 of the Corruption Offences Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) first in conjunction with Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code, as per the first indictment. “With all elements of the first indictment proven, the defendants must be sentenced as outlined in the verdict of the prosecutor’s brief,” said the prosecutor. - Suhartono - Director General of Placement and Development of Employment Opportunities (Binapenta and PKK) at the Ministry of Manpower from 2020–2023. Demanded 4 years in prison, a fine of Rp 150 million subsidiary 70 days’ imprisonment. - Haryanto - Director of PPTKA from 2019–2024, also Director General of Binapenta and PKK from 2024–2025, and currently serving as Special Staff to the Minister in the Field of International Relations. Demanded 9.5 years in prison, a fine of Rp 700 million subsidiary 160 days’ imprisonment, and restitution of Rp 84,720,680,773 subsidiary 6 years’ imprisonment. - Wisnu Pramono - Director of PPTKA from 2017–2019. Demanded 9.5 years in prison, a fine of Rp 700 million subsidiary 160 days’ imprisonment, and restitution of Rp 25,201,990,000 subsidiary 4 years’ imprisonment. - Devi Anggraeni - Director of PPTKA from 2024–2025. Demanded 6.5 years in prison, a fine of Rp 350 million subsidiary 110 days’ imprisonment, and restitution of Rp 3,250,392,000 subsidiary 3 years’ imprisonment. - Gatot Widiartono - Coordinator of Analysis and Control of Foreign Worker Use (PPTKA) from 2021–2025. Demanded 7 years in prison, a fine of Rp 500 million subsidiary 140 days’ imprisonment, and restitution of Rp 9,479,318,293 subsidiary 3 years’ imprisonment. - Putri Citra Wahyoe - RPTKA Hotline Officer from 2019–2024 and Verifier of RPTKA Approval at the PPTKA Directorate from 2024–2025. Demanded 6 years in prison, a fine of Rp 350 million subsidiary 110 days’ imprisonment, and restitution of Rp 6,396,833,496 subsidiary 2 years’ imprisonment. - Jamal Shodiqin - Administrative Analyst at the PPTKA Directorate from 2019–2024, also First Expert Staff Assistant at the PPTKA Directorate from 2024–2025. Demanded 6 years in prison, a fine of Rp 350 million subsidiary 110 days’ imprisonment, and restitution of Rp 551,160,000 subsidiary 1 year’s imprisonment. - Alfa Eshad - Junior Expert Staff Assistant at the Ministry of Manpower from 2018–2025. Demanded 6 years in prison, a fine of Rp 350 million subsidiary 110 days’ imprisonment, and restitution of Rp 5,239,438,471 subsidiary 2 years’ imprisonment.
