Eight clubs into Kobatama finals

JAKARTA (JP): Eight basketball clubs confirmed their entry into the fourth and final leg of this year's intercity professional basketball league Kobatama, which is again scheduled in Jakarta from Dec. 14-16.

The eight clubs include defending champion Aspac of Jakarta, which took the lead after the league's third leg which ended in Bandung, West Java, on Sunday.

Aspac, undefeated since the league's kick-off in Jakarta from Sept. 28 to Oct. 1, collected the most points, 20, after beating Indonesia Muda 99-90 on the third leg's closing day on Sunday.

Indonesia Muda of Jakarta and Bima Sakti of Malang, both of which gathered 17, trail in second place.

The other clubs eligible for the final leg are Pelita Jaya from Jakarta and Pacific from Surabaya, which accumulated the same points, 16, CLS from Surabaya with 15 points, Hadtex and Siliwangi from Bandung which tallied 14 points each.

The second leg of the league, which features imported cagers for the first time in its history, was held in Surabaya, East Java, from Oct. 26-29, before moving to Bandung, West Java, from Nov. 24-27. (arf)
