EIGER Nature to open 1,200 job opportunities in Bogor
The EIGER Nature ecotourism destination is opening up around 1,200 job opportunities in Bogor Regency, West Java, as the area prepares to open to the public from September 2026.
Head of General Manager EIGER Nature Faris Priyanto in Megamendung, Bogor, on Wednesday said at least 530 people are currently employed in the development of the area.
“September 2026 (operational), recruitment has already begun, and that will add approximately 585 more people. So the total will be around 1,100 people by September 2026,” Faris said.
He explained that workforce needs will continue to grow gradually after EIGER Nature begins operations, including when accommodation facilities such as camping grounds, glamping, and cabins are opened.
By December 2026, he said, an additional 200-300 workers are projected. Then in the second quarter of 2027, the operation of attraction rides is estimated to require around 80-120 workers.
With these various development stages, Faris projects that employment at EIGER Nature could reach around 1,200 people.
In fact, in the long-term development when facilities such as Meeting, Incentive, Convention, and Exhibition (MICE), accommodation, and various attractions are fully operational, workforce needs could potentially increase further.
He said the presence of EIGER Nature is also directed at providing economic impact to communities surrounding the area, including residents of Sukagalih Village, Megamendung District.
Currently, some local residents are already employed in landscaping, nursery work, and area patrols. EIGER Nature also employs residents from various age groups according to their abilities and job requirements.
However, Faris acknowledged that not all positions can be filled directly by local residents because some fields require specialised competencies.
He cited the need for information and communication technology (ICT) workers, including programmers, which requires specific skills. The same applies to a number of service positions because EIGER Nature is being developed as an internationally standardised destination.
Therefore, he said, training and competency development processes are needed so that job opportunities arising from the area’s development can be increasingly accessed by local communities.
EIGER Nature Director Imanuel Wirajaya said the development of the destination is not only aimed at providing nature tourism activities, but also at delivering benefits for the environment, culture, and society.
EIGER Nature is being developed with an ecotourism approach that combines ecological, ethnological, economic, educational, aesthetic, ethical, and entertainment aspects.
“Ecotourism must be able to build better relationships between humans, nature, culture, and society, while providing sustainable benefits,” Imanuel said.
EIGER Nature, which is a name change from EIGER Adventure Land, is scheduled to open to the public in September 2026 with a range of nature tourism, adventure, accommodation, and educational and conservation activities.
