PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daerah Operasi 4 Semarang, Central Java, secured lost items belonging to train passengers at Tegal Station with a total value of Rp24,100,000 during the Eid transport period, which ran from Wednesday, 11 March 2026 to Friday, 27 March 2026.
Manager of Public Relations for KAI Daop 4 Semarang, Luqman Arif, revealed that over the 17-day Eid transport period, they successfully secured 11 found items, which were immediately entered into the KAI Lost and Found database. The estimated value of all the items exceeded Rp24 million.
“The lost items consist of various types of valuable items such as bags with their contents, electronic goods, wallets, jackets, important documents, and helmets. Most have already been successfully returned to their owners,” said Luqman on Friday (27/3/2026).
Luqman explained that KAI’s Lost and Found system is a tangible manifestation of the company’s concern for the security and comfort of passengers. Passengers who feel they have lost items can report them directly to station officers or through the KAI Contact Centre at 121, so they can be followed up immediately.
“To prevent the loss of items, announcer officers routinely provide reminders to passengers to always pay attention to their carry-on luggage, both at the station and on the train,” Luqman clarified.
Luqman stated that although carry-on luggage is the personal responsibility of each passenger, as a form of premium service, KAI remains committed to helping secure and return lost items.
“KAI’s commitment to the Lost and Found service is part of the company’s vision in building a safe, comfortable, and sustainable transportation ecosystem. Customer service continues to be improved, in line with responsive and humane service innovations,” Luqman explained.
