Taruna Siaga Bencana (Tagana) is always at the forefront during disasters. This was evident during the Eid al-Fitr moment, when Tagana personnel collaborated to set up a communal kitchen and prepare essentials for fire victims in Sumbawa Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

“This is a calling of our souls, especially when our area in Sumbawa is hit by disaster,” said the Chairman of the Tagana Sumbawa Regency Communication Forum, Dedi Susanto, in a written statement on Tuesday (24/3/2026).

When the disaster struck in the early hours of Saturday (21/3), they immediately coordinated with the local Social Services Office and BPBD.

“After receiving instructions to establish the communal kitchen, in accordance with standard procedures, within one hour of the disaster, we were already at the site,” Dedi explained.

Together with 20 other Tagana personnel on rotation, they cooked to meet the needs of three meals a day. To date, the communal kitchen has produced around 1,800 meal portions.

The aid was distributed to affected residents through local RT/RW units. Currently, the affected residents are evacuating to family homes, so no evacuation posts are needed.

“Besides Tagana, the PKH assistants, PKH human resources, and other social pillars are also helping. Support also comes from the TNI and Police,” said Dedi.

It is known that the fire in Kalimango Village, Alas Subdistrict, Sumbawa Regency, razed 31 houses and impacted 129 souls.

For information, the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) through the Sumbawa Regency Social Services Warehouse has distributed first-stage aid, consisting of 17 mattresses, 40 ready-to-eat food packages, 32 child food packages, 17 roll tents (tarps), 9 adult clothing packages, and 21 child clothing packages.
