JAKARTA - Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin has reminded drivers to take a break every three hours during their return journey after the Eid homecoming from their hometowns.

In addition to health services, Budi believes that education for the public must be intensified, particularly regarding the importance of resting to avoid the risk of accidents.

“We urge drivers to rest every three hours; fatigued and drowsy drivers are one of the main causes of accidents,” Budi said in his statement on Friday (27/3/2025).

Homecomers can utilise the free health services provided by the government at rest areas or health posts.

“We want to ensure that the public returns from homecoming in a healthy and safe condition. The government has prepared special health check services, especially for drivers, because they greatly determine the safety of the journey,” Budi added.

He also suggested that homecomers use safer modes of transportation, such as train services for motorcycle transport.

“Motorcycle transport facilities via train can be a solution to reduce congestion and minimise accident risks, especially for long-distance riders,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the one-way system has been implemented from Km 263-70 on the Trans-Java Toll Road.

Currently, the implementation of the second stage one-way traffic engineering on the Trans-Java Toll Road section is being carried out gradually and situationally following the return flow conditions.

“Traffic arrangements are carried out gradually and adjusted to the conditions on the ground,” said Agus in his statement on Friday (27/3/2026).
