JAKARTA – Facing the surge in mobility during the 2026 Eid return flow, PT Transjakarta is preparing several strategies to ensure optimal service. These include extending operating hours, adding fleet capacity, and strengthening integrated routes with train stations and bus terminals to anticipate the increased number of passengers at the end of March. Head of Public Relations and CSR Department at Transjakarta, Ayu Wardhani, stated that these steps are focused on major arrival points such as train stations and intercity bus terminals, which are expected to be the centres of the return flow surge. As part of the strategy, Transjakarta is increasing service frequency on routes directly connected to transportation hubs by 20–50% compared to regular days. Additionally, operating hours are being extended until 11:59 PM WIB, with operational patterns adjusted to follow the arrival schedules of interprovincial intercity (AKAP) trains and buses. Furthermore, Integrated Public Transport (AUI) services such as Tanah Abang–Blok M, Senen–Tanah Abang, and Manggarai–Blok M are also seeing capacity increases. These service enhancements are targeted at strategic locations including Gambir Station, Pasar Senen Station, Manggarai Station, Tanah Abang Station, and Pulo Gebang Terminal. “At these locations, Transjakarta is ensuring higher fleet availability than on regular days, while also accelerating headways to avoid passenger congestion,” she said. In addition to strengthening integrated routes, 24-hour services will continue to operate on main corridors such as Corridor 2 (Pulo Gadung–Monas), Corridor 4 (Pulo Gadung–Galunggung), Corridor 5 (Kampung Melayu–Ancol), Corridor 11 (Kampung Melayu–Pulo Gebang), and Corridor 14 (JIS–Senen). “Specifically, the addition of 11 fleet units at Pulo Gebang Terminal from 25 to 27 March 2026 is in response to the peak return flow,” she added. Ayu explained that this strategy represents an adjustment from normal operational patterns to demand-based operations during the Eid period. “With this strategy, Transjakarta reaffirms its role as the backbone of integrated urban transportation, especially during high-mobility moments like the Eid return flow,” she stated.
