Thousands of Muslims performed Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah prayers at the Central Government Field (Puspem) in Badung Regency, Bali, this morning. Congregants from various areas in Badung had filled the location since 06:00 WITA.

The Chairman of MUI Badung and Deputy Chairman of FKUB Badung Regency, H Bambang Sumantri, stated that this year’s Eid al-Fitr is a very beautiful and special moment. This is because the Lebaran observance overlaps with Nyepi Day.

According to Bambang, this situation serves as concrete evidence of the strong tolerance and diversity in the Badung region. He appreciated the Badung community for upholding values of harmony despite having different religious backgrounds.

“Diversity is not to be uniformised, but to be united. This is an extraordinary added value, especially in Badung Regency,” said H Bambang Sumantri when met after the Eid prayer at Puspem Badung on Saturday (21/3/2026).

The series of Eid prayers at Puspem Badung began promptly at 06:30 WITA. Acting as the imam and khatib for this year’s prayer was Ustad Hasan Rahmat Syah. He delivered a sermon themed ‘Achieve True Victory by Returning to Purity’.

The Regent of Badung, I Wayan Adi Arnawa, also praised the implementation of the Eid prayer at Puspem Badung, which proceeded solemnly and orderly. Adi Arnawa emphasised that the Badung Regency Government is committed to providing the best services without discriminating based on religious background.

Adi Arnawa hopes that the conducive atmosphere and harmony in Badung will continue to be maintained. He invited all stakeholders to work together to realise security and comfort on the Island of the Gods, particularly in the Badung region.

On that occasion, Adi Arnawa also mentioned the religious holiday cash assistance programme amounting to Rp 2 million per Family Head (KK). He hopes that this assistance can alleviate the burden on the community, especially for those planning to return home for family visits.

“Hopefully, that is one of the blessings. In addition to gathering with family, the Badung Regency Government through policies ahead of Eid al-Fitr can also help ease our Muslim friends and siblings to gather with family and maintain ties,” said Adi Arnawa.
