Eid, Minister of Public Works Visits Disaster-Affected Residents in Aceh Tamiang

On the first day of Eid, the Minister of Public Works (PU) of the Republic of Indonesia, Dody Hanggodo, visited residents affected by disasters in Aceh Tamiang. Dody’s arrival was warmly welcomed by the residents. During his visit, Dody first accompanied President Prabowo to perform Eid prayers at Masjid Darussalam, Aceh Tamiang, on Saturday (21/3/2026). After the prayers, Dody, along with other officials, greeted the congregation in Aceh Tamiang. Additionally, he waved to the worshippers at Masjid Darussalam. Furthermore, Dody extended Eid al-Fitr greetings to the congregation. Following that, he also conveyed warm Eid greetings to the people of Aceh Tamiang. “Selamat Hari Raya Idul Fitri 1447 Hijriah to all Muslim citizens in Indonesia. Especially to the congregation at Masjid Darussalam, Aceh Tamiang,” he said. Meanwhile, one of the residents, Dimas, said that the visit by the President along with the Minister of Public Works to Aceh Tamiang has generated very high enthusiasm among the community. He mentioned that he could not shake hands directly with the government officials. “The Eid al-Fitr prayers attended by the President together with the Minister of Public Works were attended by a very large crowd. Due to the large crowd and tight security, we had no opportunity to shake hands with the President or the Minister,” he explained. Furthermore, he also said that the arrival of the President and the Minister of Public Works has made the community very happy. Additionally, he mentioned that the residents are also being attended to regarding their housing. “We are very pleased with their arrival in Aceh Tamiang. Earlier, I saw the President along with the Minister inspecting housing and ensuring the condition of the housing for residents affected by the disaster,” he added. As a disaster-affected resident, Dimas hopes that after the government comes to Aceh Tamiang, it will bring tangible changes. Additionally, he also urged the government to continue monitoring and assisting the residents even after Eid. “We hope that after the government comes to Aceh Tamiang, the resolution of housing will be completed soon. And the government should not wash its hands even after Eid is over,” he concluded.
