Eid Message, Religious Affairs Minister: Interfaith Harmony as Energy for National Unity

Religious Affairs Minister (Menag) Nasaruddin Umar has conveyed a strong message on the importance of harmony and national unity. He emphasised that interfaith religious harmony constitutes a great strength that can drive Indonesia’s progress.

According to him, an atmosphere of cross-religious togetherness that is well maintained becomes positive energy for national and state life.

He also assessed that this year’s Ramadan holds special meaning because it is close to several other major religious holidays, such as Chinese New Year, Nyepi, and Lent. That momentum, he said, becomes very valuable spiritual capital for Indonesian society.

” The religious days that we commemorate in this republic provide positive energy to create nobility of character, create inner peace, and make us more productive in bringing the Indonesian nation to greater peace and harmony,” said the Menag on Saturday (21/3).

Furthermore, Nasaruddin Umar appreciated the role of media practitioners in disseminating Islamic teachings to the public. He assessed that the media’s contribution is very significant in increasing public participation, including among the younger generation.

“Without you, media colleagues, such massive dissemination would not be possible. I also congratulate the media colleagues for their extraordinary services,” he stated.

The Menag invited all elements of the nation to continue praying for Indonesia’s welfare. He hopes that the Eid al-Fitr momentum can strengthen ties and bring the nation towards a more prosperous, just, and harmonious life in the future.
