Kombes Artanto, Spokesperson of Central Java Police Regional Command, stated that this vehicle increase represented part of the phased peak holiday traffic dynamics. “Central Java Police will implement traffic engineering measures including one-way systems on toll roads based on predetermined parameters to ensure smooth holiday traffic flow. We also appeal to all holiday travellers to continually update traffic information through official channels, enabling them to adjust travel timing and routes appropriately,” said Kombes Artanto on Wednesday (18/3).
With increasing vehicle flow into Central Java, the public is advised to plan journeys thoroughly and anticipate congestion at high-risk points to support smooth 2026 Eid holiday traffic management.
On 16 March (H-4 Eid), 21,329 vehicles from Jakarta entered Kalikangkung Toll Gate, prompting Jasa Marga to open toll gates in phases to manage congestion. From 15-16 March, traveller inflow through Trans Java Toll Road into Semarang averaged 1,400-1,900 vehicles daily.
Police ended one-way traffic implementation from Kalikangkung Toll Gate westward into Central Java from Sunday morning (30/3). Vehicle inflow to Central Java through Kalikangkung Toll Gate on 28 March 2025 from 05:59 WIB to 11:59 WIB totalled 19,978 units.
Hang Nadim Airport in Batam readied full operations to manage passenger surges during 2026 Eid holiday travel. Central Java Police Regional Command prepared various measures to address congestion during peak holiday traffic on toll roads. Kampung Rambutan Terminal Head Revi Zulkarnaen noted heightened traveller movements beginning on H-3 Eid. Metro Jaya Police reported 40% of Greater Jakarta residents had already travelled for the holidays, with peak traffic predicted for the night of 17/3. Police arranged vehicle storage services at police substations. National Police Traffic Directorate (Korlantas Polri) implemented national one-way traffic engineering on 18 March 2026, coinciding with predicted peak Eid holiday traffic.
