Eid Holiday Tourist Spending in Bandung Reaches Rp31.6 Billion
The Head of the Bandung Regency Tourism Office, Wawan A. Ridwan, stated in Bandung on Friday that the money circulation came from a total of 146,564 tourists with an average expenditure of around Rp215,000 per person. “The money circulation is nearly Rp31.65 billion, calculated from the average tourist spending of around Rp215,000 per person,” he said. He explained that the figure represents an estimate of direct tourist spending on consumption, souvenirs, and other needs at tourist sites, and does not include accommodation costs and entry tickets. In addition, accommodation occupancy rates in tourist areas were recorded to have increased between 30 and 40 percent during the Eid holiday period. “Hotel, glamping, and resort occupancy that we monitored at 15 points experienced a quite significant increase,” he said. He added that the average length of stay for tourists in Bandung Regency is still around 1.5 days, lower compared to Bandung City which reaches 2 to 3 days. Meanwhile, the Bandung Regency Government itself stated that it will continue to improve the quality of destinations and promotion in order to encourage longer stays and tourist spending during holidays.
