JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni has revealed President Prabowo Subianto’s directives to hundreds of National Parks (TN) and Nature Tourism Areas (TWA) in preparation for the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah/2026 CE holiday period. Prabowo, as disclosed by Raja Juli, has instructed that there should be no litter or accidents in TN and TWA during the Lebaran holiday momentum. “President Prabowo has given me directives regarding information on available TN/TWA during the holiday, noting a market from the public who wish to visit TN-TWA during the Eid al-Fitr break,” said Raja Juli in his statement on Wednesday (18/3/2026). According to him, the government observes an increase in public interest in nature tourism during holiday periods. Therefore, Prabowo has given special attention to the readiness of information and services in national park and nature tourism areas. Referring to Prabowo’s directives, Raja Juli emphasised that the management of conservation areas must prioritise the zero waste principle. “President Prabowo also requests that the management of TN-TWA pay attention to zero waste, have sufficient rubbish bins and personnel,” he revealed. Not only that, Prabowo is also said to have stressed the zero accident principle to ensure safety facility preparedness. “There should be no casualties due to inadequate safety facilities; prepare medical teams, ambulances, or adequate health centres,” said Raja Juli. This politician from the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) reminded of the importance of preventing excessive crowding that could pose safety risks or environmental damage. On the other hand, national parks and nature tourism areas are also asked to ensure that the quota system operates optimally so that the tourist experience remains safe and comfortable. “Ensure that visitors to TN and TWA do not exceed the set quota, so as not to exceed the carrying capacity and capacity that causes long queues from tourists,” said Raja Juli.
