JAKARTA - Vehicle traffic leaving the Jabodetabek region on the first day of Eid 2026 celebrations remained high. PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk recorded a surge in traffic volume on H+1 of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah, or Sunday (22/3/2026), particularly towards Merak and the Puncak area in Bogor. According to data from the Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad Regional Division, the total number of vehicles exiting Jabodetabek via the Cikupa Toll Gate (GT) towards Merak and GT Ciawi 1 towards Puncak reached 97,427 units. In detail, the volume at GT Cikupa was recorded at 46,754 units, an increase of 7.35 percent from normal conditions. Meanwhile, a significant surge occurred at GT Ciawi 1 with a total of 50,673 vehicles, jumping 54.19 percent compared to normal conditions. Not only that, traffic increases also occurred in the West Java region, particularly towards Bandung and Rancaekek. The total vehicles heading to those areas were recorded at 85,562 units, up 29.54 percent from normal conditions. On the other hand, vehicles returning from Bandung and Rancaekek to Jakarta reached 74,975 units, an increase of 10.19 percent. For traffic distribution, vehicles heading to Rancaekek, Garut, and surrounding areas via GT Cileunyi were recorded at 46,742 units, up 42.66 percent. Meanwhile, return traffic to Jakarta via the same toll gate reached 39,356 vehicles, increasing 18.76 percent. Vehicles leaving Bandung towards Jakarta via that toll gate were recorded at 35,619 units, up slightly by 2.06 percent from normal conditions. Jasa Marga estimates that vehicle volumes in the Bandung and Jabodetabek areas will remain high until H+3 of Eid al-Fitr.
