Eid Exodus Traffic at Ciwandan Port Begins to Ease on H-1
Cilegon (ANTARA) - Motorcycle homecoming traffic at Ciwandan Port in Cilegon City, Banten, began showing a downward trend on H-1 Eid on Friday. Based on real-time data from PT Pelindo Regional 2 Banten until 4:02 PM WIB, a total of 4,031 motorcycles had crossed to Sumatra Island. The data also indicated a total of 6,588 passengers, accompanied by the movement of 274 logistics trucks still utilising this crossing route. In the final homecoming flow of the day, several motorbike travellers were still observed crossing, although the vehicle volume was relatively much lower compared to the peak period that occurred on 17-18 March. Some homecoming travellers admitted to deliberately choosing departure times at the end of the mudik period to avoid the extreme density that occurred in the previous days. “Their repeated presence at Ciwandan Port ensures that every dynamic on the ground is well monitored and can be handled more responsively,” said Benny. Benny added that direct attention from the central government has a positive impact on the motivation of frontline personnel. This synergy drives all stakeholders to eliminate sectoral egos for the comfort of the community. Pelindo Regional 2 Banten is committed to maintaining prime operational rhythms and upholding Occupational Safety and Health (K3) standards. Through collaboration with security apparatus, Ciwandan Port is ready to serve as a reliable, safe, and comfortable crossing gateway with full-hearted service spirit.
