PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk has recorded that 1.1 million vehicles have left Jakarta during this year’s Eid exodus season. This figure represents 32 per cent of the total projected vehicle departures from Jakarta.

“As of today (17 March) at 22:00, the outbound traffic flow from Jakarta has reached 1.1 million vehicles. This represents 32 per cent of our projection and has increased compared to previous days,” said PT Jasa Marga Chief Executive Officer Rivan A. Purwantono at the command centre at km 29 of the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road in North Cikarang on Tuesday evening, 17 March 2026.

Various traffic management measures have been implemented since Tuesday (17 March). A national one-way system on the Trans-Java toll route will be enforced during the daytime.

“Together with the Minister of Transportation and the Head of the National Traffic Police, we are implementing the first phase of the partial one-way system. Based on our projections, this will increase traffic to 34 per cent or 1.2 million vehicles this evening,” he said.

“We are ensuring that with this first phase of the partial one-way system, not only are the toll sections prepared for one-way traffic, but rest areas on both lanes are also prepared for holidaymakers to use during the one-way period,” he added.

An estimated 143.9 million journeys are expected to occur during this year’s Eid exodus. Jasa Marga projects that 3.5 million vehicles will depart Jakarta.

Traffic management measures were implemented this morning as vehicle flows increased from early morning. Several traffic engineering measures have been deployed on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll section heading towards the Trans-Java route.

Contraflow has been implemented from km 55 to 70 heading towards the Trans-Java route, beginning on Tuesday (17 March) evening.

“This evening, from kilometres 55 to 70, we implemented contraflow to regulate traffic flow towards the Trans-Java route,” said Inspector General Agus at the National Traffic Police Command Centre.

Currently, a partial one-way system is still in effect from km 70 to 263 on the Trans-Java toll road, implemented since Tuesday afternoon.
