Eid al-Fitr Prayers in Mataram to Bima, NTB
Muslims in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) performed Eid al-Fitr prayers for 1447 Hijriah at various locations today. The Eid prayers proceeded smoothly and solemnly.
NTB Governor Lalu Muhamad Iqbal joined the Eid prayers at Bumi Gora Field, the Governor’s Office, NTB, on Saturday (21/3/2026). According to Iqbal, Ramadan serves as a school of life to cultivate patience, refine morals, and foster empathy for others.
“Ramadan educates us to become individuals who are not only pious personally but also socially pious,” said Iqbal in front of thousands of congregants attending the Eid prayers on Saturday morning.
Iqbal also touched on development in NTB. He stated that poverty is the root of all social problems. Therefore, he emphasised that eradicating poverty is a humanitarian task as well as a moral mandate.
“It is impossible to speak of progress, world-class tourism, a strong growing economy, or NTB’s golden generation if there are still brothers and sisters left behind,” Iqbal remarked.
The Eid prayers at Bumi Gora Field were led by Imam Ustaz Ahyar Mukhsin with sermon by Prof Dr TGH Adi Fadli. On that occasion, Iqbal hoped that Eid would be a momentum to strengthen brotherhood, social solidarity, and commitment to building a prosperous NTB and world.
“True victory is not just because we have completed the fasting worship. True victory is when we become better, when our hearts become more caring, our hands lighter in giving, and our steps stronger in helping others,” he added.

Mataram Mayor Mohan Roliskana also attended the Eid prayers at the location. He hoped that Eid al-Fitr would bring blessings and peace to the people of Mataram.
“Alhamdulillah, many people attended this event. May we be granted blessings and goodness for all of us. We hope Mataram City remains peaceful and serene,” said Mohan after the Eid prayers.
Mohan also mentioned Eid al-Fitr’s proximity to Nyepi Day for Hindus. He noted that the celebrations of these two major religious holidays proceeded smoothly and solemnly due to the high tolerance of Mataram’s society.
“Our level of maturity in understanding differences, our plurality as well, we can address very wisely. The tolerance is positive and mutual help,” Mohan stated.

Bima Deputy Mayor’s Office Eid Prayers
Meanwhile, Bima Mayor A Rahman (Aji Man) joined the Eid prayers in the courtyard of the Bima Mayor’s Office, NTB. The Eid prayers were attended by thousands of congregants, including the Bima City Police Chief, Commander of 1608 Bima Infantry Battalion, Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkompinda), and several heads of Regional Work Units under the Bima City Government.
In his speech, Aji Man said that Eid al-Fitr for Muslims is more than just celebrating victory day. According to him, Eid is a momentum for self-reflection.
“The victory day we observe today becomes a momentum to achieve blessings and self-reflection,” said Aji Man.
Aji Man invited the congregants to strengthen unity and contribute to building Bima City. He assessed that there are many challenges faced, including drugs and online gambling.
“Currently, drugs and online gambling are rampant, so all feet are needed to eradicate them,” Aji Man added.
Meanwhile, the sermon giver Ustaz Islamuddin also touched on the damage caused by disasters such as earthquakes, floods, landslides, and droughts. According to him, disasters are warnings from Allah SWT.
“Every day we receive news of adultery, fornication, drugs, alcohol, to endless corruption. This makes Allah SWT angry and brings disasters,” said Ustaz Islamuddin.
Ustaz Islamuddin emphasised that Eid al-Fitr is a momentum to enhance faith and piety to Allah SWT. Leaders, he said, must be honest in carrying out their mandates.
“Whatever we do and perform in this world, later we will be held accountable before Allah SWT,” he concluded.
