President Prabowo Subianto telephoned several national leaders, namely Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Saudi Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS), and Jordanian King Abdullah II, as part of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah celebrations.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, when contacted in Jakarta on Monday, explained that President Prabowo called these national leaders after completing his Eid agenda in the country, which began with the takbiran night in Medan, North Sumatra, on Friday (20/3) evening, followed by Eid prayers in Aceh Tamiang, Aceh Province, on Saturday (21/3) morning, and then halalbihalal and an open house at the Presidential Palace on Saturday afternoon until evening.

“In the past few days during this Eid al-Fitr atmosphere, President Prabowo conducted outreach via telephone with Muslim country leaders, including the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, King Abdullah II of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman,” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy.

Teddy continued that President Prabowo will soon contact other national leaders.

“Several other heads of state will also be contacted in the near future, pending confirmation from each country,” added Teddy.

According to the Cabinet Secretary, this moment of outreach via telephone is not merely a tradition during Eid al-Fitr, but also evidence of the close brotherhood between Indonesia and other Muslim-majority countries.

“This outreach embodies the closeness of brotherhood and cooperation among Muslim countries while strengthening bilateral relations in an atmosphere full of blessings,” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy.

Meanwhile, the Presidential Secretariat in its official statement on Sunday (22/3), reconfirmed today, explained that the outreach moment conducted by President Prabowo via telephone affirms Indonesia’s presence as a bridge of unity.

“This moment serves as an affirmation that Indonesia is not only present as the largest Muslim country, but also as a bridge of unity that brings messages of peace, cooperation, and hope for the Islamic world. Eid al-Fitr becomes more than just a celebration, but also a space for diplomacy, strengthening of brotherhood, and a symbol of Indonesia’s commitment to continue weaving global unity,” stated the official release from the Presidential Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia.
