The Eid al-Fitr holiday is synonymous with increased cash requirements, particularly as people travel home to various regions. Amid the trend towards digital transactions, the convenience of cardless cash withdrawals is becoming increasingly relevant.

Although digital transactions are becoming more widespread, physical cash remains essential for various needs, from shopping at traditional markets to sharing with family in hometowns.

To address this demand, cardless cash withdrawal services are now more easily accessible.

GoPay users can now utilise the balance cash-out feature directly through the ATM networks of banks without needing a debit card.

This service is realised through a collaboration between PT Jalin Pembayaran Nusantara (Jalin), PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BRI), and PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Barat dan Banten Tbk (Bank BJB).

Through this partnership, GoPay users can withdraw balances at the BRI and Bank BJB ATM networks spread across various regions in Indonesia.

“This collaboration further expands the GoPay balance cash withdrawal network. Now, GoPay is not only a reliable digital payment tool but also provides convenience for users to cash out balances practically at the nearest BRI and Bank BJB ATMs throughout Indonesia,” said Kelvin in an official statement received by Kompas.com on Thursday (19/3/2026).

Kelvin added that the public can download the GoPay app to access more comprehensive and secure financial services.

“From free instant transfers anywhere up to 100 times per month to payments for various routine bills such as data packages and electricity tokens at always affordable prices,” said Kelvin.

The high mobility of the public during Eid also drives the need for flexible financial services. National movement is projected to reach 143.9 million people, making access to cash in various locations increasingly crucial.

BRI’s Director of Information Technology, Saladin Dharma Nugraha Effendi, explained that BRI’s extensive network infrastructure forms the main foundation for the success of this service.

With more than 19,000 ATMs and CRMs spread across Indonesia, the public can still cash out GoPay balances in a practical, secure, and unobstructed manner, even in locations far from city centres.

“Through the concept of an open and integrated network, BRI is strengthening the national digital financial ecosystem,” said Saladin.

He added that this infrastructure support facilitates the public, including homecoming travellers, to maintain access to cash during Eid in various areas they visit.
