JAKARTA - The Director of PT Freeport Indonesia, Tony Wenas, hopes that on this Eid al-Fitr occasion, geopolitical conditions can soon subside.

“Hopefully the world can be more peaceful,” he said when met at the Open House at the residence of the Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Airlangga Hartarto, in Jakarta on Saturday (21/3/2026).

He added that every instance of unrest in the world would have numerous negative impacts.

“And hopefully Indonesia can endure and survive,” he further remarked.

Tony also hoped that Indonesia could soon emerge from the problems it is facing. “It can be relieved from the difficulties it might be encountering,” said Tony.

Finally, Tony did not forget to extend Eid al-Fitr greetings to all of society. “I extend Eid al-Fitr greetings, forgiveness for both physical and spiritual shortcomings,” he concluded.

“Hoping with this victory we can achieve 5.5 per cent economic growth in the first quarter,” he stated.

In addition, Airlangga also conveyed an Eid message on this Lebaran occasion.

“We have fasted for 30 days and certainly the meaning of this victory is also related to the economy,” he said.
