Eid al-Fitr: DKI Provincial Government Hosts "Open House" at City Hall
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government held an open house or social gathering at City Hall during the Eid al-Fitr celebrations on Saturday.
Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Rano Karno, stated that the event aimed to greet and strengthen ties with the community as well as local Regional Device Organisations (OPD).
“Once again, today is what we call an open house, deliberately held here so that we can meet with friends from the OPD and also with the public,” Rano told reporters after the open house event at City Hall, Jakarta, on Saturday afternoon.
He emphasised that the open house was not an occasion for absorbing public aspirations, but merely for socialising.
According to him, the submission of complaints or aspirations from the public does not require a special moment. The DKI Provincial Government, said the man familiarly known as Bang Doel, opens channels for such complaints at City Hall from Monday to Thursday.
“No, of course this moment is not for aspirations. This is just halal bihalal, just socialising. As for aspirations, actually every day, from Monday to Thursday, we open it here, on the terrace. If there is something to report, please do so,” Rano said.
ANTARA’s observation at the location at 14:00 WIB showed the public crowding the pendopo of DKI Jakarta City Hall to shake hands with DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung and his deputy, Rano Karno.
The attendees came from various backgrounds, ranging from the Indonesian Stroke Friends (KASI), online motorcycle taxi drivers to Public Infrastructure and Facilities Handling Officers (PPSU).
