Eid al-Fitr as Momentum to Defend Al-Aqsa Mosque, Congregants Urged to Wear Palestinian Attire
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Al-Aqsa Mosque has been closed by Zionist Israel for nearly three weeks and the situation continues to this day. Muslims are prohibited from worshipping at the sacred Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Chairman of the Presidium of the Aqsa Working Group (AWG), Anshorullah, stated that on the day of victory when Muslims celebrate Eid al-Fitr, Al-Aqsa Mosque remains under occupation and desecrated by Zionist Israel. “Therefore, it is time for us to take a stand. AWG calls to defend Al-Aqsa on this Eid al-Fitr moment,” said Anshorullah to Republika on Friday (20/3/2026).
AWG calls, on the occasion of the Eid al-Fitr 1447 H sermon, to highlight the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque and reveal the current conditions of occupation and closure. He also calls for prayers for Al-Aqsa, specifically for the safety of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the victory of the Palestinian people.
AWG also urges congregants to wear Palestinian attire, showing our identity of support without hesitation. It also calls for making infaq for the Al-Aqsa struggle, channel your best wealth to help the Palestinian people and the struggle for the liberation of Al-Aqsa through various action and education activities. “Move together to free Al-Aqsa Mosque and Palestine, Allahu Akbar, Al-Aqsa is our right,” said Anshorullah.
Anshorullah reminds that on this day of victory, as Muslims celebrate Eid al-Fitr with full joy, remember that Al-Aqsa Mosque has been under pressure and total blockade for nearly three weeks, which continues to this day.
“While we gather with family, our brothers in Palestine are still struggling just to be able to worship in their own homeland,” said Anshorullah.
AWG invites to rally solidarity and offer prayers because Al-Aqsa Mosque is the responsibility of the entire Muslim ummah.
