Eid al-Fitr: A Momentum to Restore Purity and Social Solidarity
The Chairman of the Central Board of the National Awakening Party (PKB), Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar, commonly known as Muhaimin or Cak Imin, is using the momentum of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah as a call to strengthen national unity through the spirit of mutual forgiveness.
Muhaimin emphasised that amid diversity of views and backgrounds, the shared values that unite are the willingness to forgive one another, strengthen each other, and protect one another as a single nation. “Mutual forgiveness is an effective way to maintain unity,” he stated, while believing that this spirit of unity will become a strong foundation for collective efforts to build the nation on Saturday (21/3/2026).
He also underlined the importance of maintaining social solidarity post-Ramadan. According to him, the spirit of the holy month must not simply fade away on the day of celebration; instead, Eid al-Fitr should become a time to realise tangible care for others, starting from attention to neighbours, support for the weak, to strengthening mutual cooperation in daily life.
As the Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment, Gus Muhaimin invited all elements of the nation to make Eid al-Fitr a starting point for community empowerment, especially in facing economic and social challenges. “Empowerment is the key. We want society to rise together, strengthening family economies, supporting small businesses, and opening opportunities for one another. From there, social justice can be realised,” he said.
On behalf of himself and the extended PKB family, he conveyed Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah greetings accompanied by prayers that Allah accepts the worship of all the ummah. “Taqabbalallahu minna wa minkum, taqabbal ya karim. Happy Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah, minal aidin wal faizin, please forgive my physical and inner shortcomings,” he said. He also sent warm regards to all family members across the Archipelago, reminding them to maintain family ties, especially amid the flow of Eid homecoming.
In East Kalimantan, Governor Rudy Mas’ud performed Eid prayers at the Baitul Muttaqien Islamic Center Mosque in Samarinda on the same day. In his speech, he affirmed that Eid al-Fitr is a crucial momentum to strengthen family ties and solidify brotherhood amid the richness of ethnic and religious diversity in Bumi Etam. Harmony, he said, is not just a tradition, but the main strength that accelerates regional development.
Rudy invited the community to jointly oversee leadership so that it is carried out with integrity in accordance with legal corridors. He also emphasised that Eid al-Fitr symbolises true victory through personal maturity, sincerity, and social care, so the values of Ramadan need to be continuously implemented in daily life. The East Kalimantan Provincial Government is committed to promoting equitable development, improving the quality of human resources, and strengthening overall community welfare.
Meanwhile, Deputy Governor Seno Aji performed Eid prayers with thousands of congregants at the Nurul Mu’minin Mosque, emphasising the government’s presence among the people. He invited full support for regional development programmes, including synergy with the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) project to boost the local economy.
“Eid al-Fitr reminds us to maintain the spirit of mutual cooperation in building East Kalimantan,” he said, while apologising for any shortcomings in public services.
In West Java, Karawang Regent Aep Syaepuloh conveyed the local government’s commitment to continue building public trust through responsive and humane services. In his speech ahead of Eid prayers at Karangpawitan Field, he highlighted pro-people programmes during Ramadan, such as basic needs assistance and homecoming security, which will continue to be developed. The momentum of Eid al-Fitr, he said, melts social barriers and fosters brotherhood across all strata.
