Eid al-Fitr 2026 Return Flow: Take Advantage of 30% Toll Discount on 26–27 March
The government, along with relevant agencies, is finalising strategies to handle the peak Eid al-Fitr 2026 return flow. One highlighted measure is the provision of up to 30% toll discounts on 26–27 March 2026, expected to alleviate vehicle density on main routes. This initiative forms part of broader efforts to maintain smooth societal mobility after the long Idul Fitri holiday. Several high-ranking officials, such as Pratikno, Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Dudy Purwagandhi, personally inspected real-time traffic conditions at the control centre. Traffic monitoring is conducted through the Jasa Marga Tollroad Command Center (JMTC), enabling rapid data-based decisions. The system is integrated with strategic points, from toll gates to rest areas. Jasa Marga President Director Rivan A Purwantono revealed that this year’s outbound flow recorded notably high figures, one of the largest in history. “We thank the public for ensuring the outbound journey proceeded well, despite the peak on 18 March 2026 reaching 270,000 vehicles, the highest ever. The control of the first stage return flow on 24 March 2026 also went smoothly. Moving forward, the main focus is anticipating the peak return on 28–29 March 2026. We remind the public to utilise the toll discount on 26–27 March and the Travoy app for better trip planning,” said Rivan. The toll discount is hoped to encourage the public to schedule more flexible travel times, avoiding pile-ups on peak return dates. Additionally, the government is promoting Work From Anywhere (WFA) policies to give people options for working without returning simultaneously. Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi expressed appreciation to the public for their compliance during the outbound flow. “Thank you to the public for the implementation of outbound and return transport, always following field officers’ instructions, resulting in reduced accident rates. We hope accident and fatality figures continue to decline. We encourage the public to utilise Work From Anywhere (WFA) or toll discounts to reduce density during the peak return,” stated Dudy.
