Eid al-Fitr 1447 H, Puan: Let Us Open the Doors of Forgiveness to One Another

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Chair of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, extended Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah greetings to all Indonesian people.

On this Eid al-Fitr occasion in 2026, she invited all elements of society to open the doors of forgiveness to one another.

“Now, Eid al-Fitr brings us back to the purity of self. On this fitri day, let us open the doors of forgiveness to one another,” said Puan in her statement on Friday (20/3/2026).

Puan views the Eid al-Fitr moment as an opportunity to strengthen national unity, towards building a better Indonesia.

“Ramadan has tempered our selves, cleansed our souls, and clarified our hearts,” she stated.

Even with differences in the Eid al-Fitr date in Indonesia, Puan invited all parties to continue maintaining unity and tolerance.

The government has officially set Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah on Saturday (21/3/2025).

Muhammadiyah has set the beginning of the month of Shawwal 1447 H today.

“Let us strengthen unity and bolster the spirit of mutual cooperation to build a better Indonesia,” said Puan.

On this Eid al-Fitr moment, said Puan, it must become an opportunity to increase empathy towards fellow citizens, especially for those who are lacking and in need.

This PDI-P politician considers acts of care very important, especially as the world is currently plagued by various geopolitical dynamics that affect global economic stability, including Indonesia’s economy.

Puan also urged the government to be increasingly sensitive in fighting for the people’s welfare.

“The people continue to place great hopes for the state to be present, especially in times when the people need it most,” Puan emphasised firmly.

“May all Muslims welcome the Day of Victory with joy. And to all the people, happy gathering with family during this Eid holiday,” Puan added.
