Eid al-Fitr 1447 H: A Momentum to Strengthen National Values
The occasion of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H is not only interpreted as a day of victory for Muslims after performing Ramadan worship but also as an opportune moment to strengthen brotherhood, maintain social harmony, and reaffirm national values within society.
Daddy Rohanady, a member of the West Java DPRD Commission IV, views Eid al-Fitr as a space to tighten silaturahim and strengthen togetherness, especially in the midst of West Java’s diverse society with varied backgrounds.
According to him, the spirit of nationalism is important to continue nurturing so that social life remains harmonious, peaceful, and conducive.
“Eid al-Fitr is not merely a spiritual momentum after Ramadan; it also becomes a very important time to strengthen brotherhood, maintain harmony, and reaffirm national values within society,” said Daddy on Friday (20/3/2026).
He stated that the people of West Java have long had a tradition of living side by side in a harmonious atmosphere. Therefore, values of togetherness, tolerance, and mutual respect need to be continuously maintained so as not to fade due to various developing social dynamics.
According to him, the spirit of Eid al-Fitr should actually serve as a reminder that national unity and integrity are paramount.
Daddy emphasised that the Lebaran atmosphere must become a momentum for drawing closer together, not the opposite of creating distance within society.
He reminded of the importance of wise and mature attitudes in responding to various social issues, including not being easily provoked by provocative information that has the potential to divide.
“Do not let Eid al-Fitr lose its meaning as a momentum of togetherness. This holiday must become an arena to tighten silaturahim, strengthen unity, and nurture the spirit of nationalism,” said the senior Gerindra politician.
According to Daddy, West Java as a province with a large population requires a joint commitment from all elements of society to keep the atmosphere peaceful.
In this regard, he views the roles of religious leaders, community figures, and local government as very important in providing calm and reassuring education.
He hopes that Eid al-Fitr 1447 H will truly become a momentum to strengthen unity, nurture harmony, and reaffirm nationalism. Thus, the people of West Java can continue to maintain the tradition of tolerance and togetherness as an important foundation in national and state life.
“The spirit of Eid al-Fitr must be made a strengthener of brotherhood, harmony, and nationalism. With that togetherness, national unity will remain well maintained,” he said.
