Amidst high logistics activity and its role as one of Indonesia’s largest container terminals, PT Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) distributed 44 sacrificial animals during the 1447 Hijriah/2026 Eid al-Adha period to the surrounding community, social groups, and various stakeholders supporting the Tanjung Priok Port area. Distribution focused on Ring 1 communities, social and education partner communities, worker groups, and institutions part of the port ecosystem. For JICT, the qurban distribution is not merely an annual event but part of efforts to maintain healthy relations between the national strategic industrial zone and the surrounding community. JICT Managing Director Ade Hartono stated that port sustainability requires harmonious relations between logistics activities, the social environment, and local stakeholders. ‘The port and community grow in the same space. Therefore, logistics area sustainability depends not only on operational efficiency but also on the quality of relationships built with the community and stakeholders,’ Ade said in Jakarta on Wednesday, 27 May 2026. According to Ade, modern port areas require strong social foundations for balanced economic growth and trade activities. ‘Eid al-Adha reminds us of sharing and solidarity values. In the port context, these are translated into mutually reinforcing relationships between the port, community, and all operational support elements,’ he said. JICT’s qurban distribution covered surrounding Tanjung Priok communities, social and partner groups, and port-supporting institutions. All processes were coordinated and administratively finalised to ensure orderly, targeted distribution in line with Pelindo Group coordination. (Ant/I-2)
