Eid al-Adha prayers at Muhammadiyah Central Dakwah Building in Central Jakarta
Muhammadiyah’s Central Leadership held the Eid al-Adha prayer for 1447 AH this morning. Congregants prayed with devotion. The Eid al-Adha prayer for 1447 AH at Muhammadiyah’s Central Dakwah Building in Menteng, Central Jakarta, began at 6:39 AM WIB. The prayer was held in the building’s courtyard. Attendees brought their families to participate in the Eid al-Adha prayer here. Hilman Latief served as the khutbah speaker, while Ustaz Teguh Agus Wahyuda led the prayer. In his sermon, Hilman urged congregants to emulate Prophet Ibrahim’s obedience and patience when commanded to sacrifice his son, Ismail. He stated that performing Eid al-Adha prayer is a manifestation of upholding the sunnah, a tradition spanning thousands of years. “This story serves as the inspiration for the annual sacrifice ritual performed by Muslims,” he added. Hilman noted that many Muslims still sacrifice their lives due to circumstances and conditions. He said the contextual application of sacrifice has wide-reaching societal impacts. “May we be granted sincerity and piety this Eid al-Adha, and be strengthened in patience to face our problems, from small family issues to larger challenges,” he added. “Ultimately, sacrifices in life, particularly this annual tradition of sacrifice, are performed to attain piety,” he concluded. For information, Eid al-Adha 1447 AH falls on Wednesday, 27 May. The government and Muhammadiyah celebrated Eid al-Adha 2026 simultaneously.
