Passenger activity at Padangbai Port in Karangasem, Bali, increased during the Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah holiday. The number of passengers travelling to Lembar Port in West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), doubled.

Port Operations Superintendent at ASDP Padangbai, Yeri Kena, stated that motorbike riders dominated the Padangbai-Lembar route. He noted the passenger increase began on Monday, 25 May, two days before Eid al-Adha.

‘The rise is not too significant, only in motorbikes. Cars and foot passengers remain steady,’ Yeri Kena said on Wednesday, 27 May 2026.

Overall, Yeri said the average daily passenger count at Padangbai Port on regular days is around 1,000. Despite the holiday surge, he confirmed no queues formed within the port.

‘There is an increase, but it remains within reasonable limits. No queues form as passengers board immediately when a ferry docks,’ Yeri Kena added.

Padangbai Port management has not added extra ferry trips. Yeri predicted the passenger increase would continue until the end of the week.

Rustiadi, a passenger, said he had just returned to Lombok for Eid al-Adha. He explained he was visiting his hometown for a few days before returning to Bali.

‘Even though it’s brief, I can spend time with my parents in Lombok. I always return for both Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha celebrations,’ Rustiadi said shortly before boarding the ferry at Padangbai Port.
