Eid al-Adha 1447 AH: Thousands of Qurban Meat Packages Distributed to Community
Fifteen cattle and seven goats were slaughtered to mark the Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah celebration through collaboration between various business entities, trade unions, and stakeholders. The event at Jakarta’s Wisma Tugu building produced thousands of qurban meat packages distributed to the public, workers, Islamic boarding schools, foundations, and local authorities.
Mars Ega Legowo, Director of Pertamina Patra Niaga, stated that the number of sacrificial animals this year increased from nine cows recorded last year.
“Last year’s committee reported nine cows, but this year there are 15—a significant increase. We hope to maintain this enthusiasm next year,” said Ega.
He added that the spirit of qurban is not only a spiritual act but also a model for fulfilling responsibilities and serving the community.
“The spirit of qurban must guide us as Pertamina personnel to give our best and commit fully to larger causes,” he said.
Ega expressed hope that the qurban act would benefit the community and serve as a source of merit for all involved.
“May this qurban act bring benefits to the public, and may our corporate efforts be recorded as virtuous deeds by Allah SWT,” he added.
Collaboration with Subsidiaries and Stakeholders
Giarto, also known as Egi, Chairman of Pertamina Patra Niaga’s Islamic Dakwah Board (BDI), explained this year’s qurban was conducted collaboratively with six subsidiaries, trade unions, and other stakeholders.
“This year’s Eid al-Adha activities involve synergy with six subsidiaries, trade unions, and stakeholders. We hope this collaboration enhances benefits and brings blessings to the company,” he said.
Qurban meat was distributed to contract workers (TAD), auxiliary workers (TKJP), local communities, Islamic boarding schools, foundations, and local police.
Egi noted that approximately 2,500 meat packages were distributed, not including an additional 1,000 from participating subsidiaries.
“The aim is to strengthen brotherhood, unity, and charity for all beneficiaries. We hope this year’s efforts surpass last year’s and bring further goodwill to the company,” he added.
He added that all slaughtering processes adhered to health standards and Islamic Shariah, involving veterinarians and certified Halal Slaughterers (Juleha).
Animal Health and Meat Quality Monitored
Arie Rahman, Chairman of Pertamina Patra Niaga’s Islamic Holy Days Committee (PHBI), stated each sacrificial animal undergoes health checks before and after slaughter.
“The process begins with animal transportation and pre-slaughter veterinary checks, followed by post-slaughter meat quality inspections,” Arie said.
He explained that meat distribution prioritised communities in Setiabudi and Menteng Atas, South Jakarta, and Pertamina personnel.
Arie noted increased participation this year, reflected in the higher number of slaughtered animals.
Qurban as an Expression of Sincerity
Pertamina Patra Niaga’s HR Director, Dewi Kurnia Salwa, urged all staff to view qurban as an act of sincerity and self-sacrifice.
“Qurban is not about the visible cattle but the unseen erasure of sins. May today’s worship bring blessings to Pertamina Patra Niaga, making it a better and more beneficial company for Indonesian society,” Dewi said.
This year’s qurban initiative aims to strengthen spiritual values and employee solidarity while expanding social benefits for local communities.
