Eid 2026 Traffic Update: 290,000 Vehicles Pass Through Cikampek Utama
PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) optimised traffic management as public mobility towards the east increased on the Trans Java toll road ahead of the 2026 Eid holiday period.
During the period from H-10 to H-5, namely 11–16 March 2026, 290,799 vehicles were recorded passing eastbound through Cikampek Utama toll gate. This figure represented a significant 69 per cent increase compared with normal conditions, which typically see 172,084 vehicles.
To anticipate this surge, JTT in collaboration with police implemented traffic management measures comprising one-way local routes, beginning from kilometre 70 of the Jakarta–Cikampek toll road to kilometre 263 of the Pejagan–Pemalang toll road from 15:18 WIB. This was followed by contraflow traffic management from kilometre 55 to kilometre 70 towards Cikampek on the Jakarta–Cikampek toll road from 20:43 WIB. Additionally, JTT operated 22 toll gates at Cikampek Utama to support smooth traffic flow towards Trans Java.
Beyond traffic management, JTT continued to implement toll rate incentives to help distribute vehicles across specific sections. Given the significant traffic surge and high public enthusiasm during the 1447H/2026 Eid holiday period, a 23 per cent toll discount for all transactions on the Batang–Semarang stretch remained in effect from 12 March to 31 March 2026, aimed at distributing traffic flow and providing direct benefits to toll road users.
Meanwhile, westbound traffic from the east towards Jakarta through Cikampek Utama declined, with 161,129 vehicles recorded—a 4.96 per cent decrease compared with normal traffic of 169,532 vehicles.
Surges in vehicle volume were also monitored across several toll sections managed by JTT Group in Central and East Java. In Central Java, vehicle volume at Kalikangkung gate towards Semarang reached 153,113 vehicles, a 58.34 per cent increase from the normal 96,697 vehicles. Traffic departing Semarang meanwhile totalled 93,820 vehicles, a slight 1.87 per cent increase from normal levels of 92,099 vehicles.
At Banyumanik gate, traffic towards Solo reached 184,211 vehicles, a 33.53 per cent increase from normal conditions of 137,957 vehicles. Traffic towards Jakarta recorded 112,424 vehicles, a 0.21 per cent increase compared with normal levels of 112,192 vehicles.
In East Java, increases were also recorded at Warugunung gate. Vehicles heading towards Surabaya totalled 136,817 units, a 12.34 per cent increase from the normal 121,791 vehicles. Traffic towards Jakarta reached 129,525 vehicles, up 13.54 per cent from the normal 114,080 vehicles.
