Eid 2026: PT KAI Predicts Peak Return Flow on 24 March
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Daerah Operasi 1 Jakarta predicts the peak return flow for Eid 2026 will occur on Tuesday, 24 March, or H+3 after Eid al-Fitr. This was stated by the Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, Franoto Wibowo. “Meanwhile, the highest number (for the return flow period) is on 24 March,” said Franoto, as quoted from Antara on Sunday, 22 March 2026. Furthermore, Franoto said the average arrival volume during the return flow period from 23 to 29 March is 50,000 passengers per day. “This figure (50,000) is the (average arrivals at) Pasar Senen Station, Gambir, and other stations such as Jatinegara, Bekasi, Cikarang, Karawang, and Cikampek. So, the total average per day is around 50,000 passengers returning to the Daop 1 Jakarta region,” Franoto explained. Return flow mobility has already been observed this Sunday, or H+1 of Eid 2026. As of 09:00 WIB today, 41,663 people arrived at stations in the Daop 1 Jakarta region. Meanwhile, 41,754 passengers departed from stations in the Daop 1 Jakarta region. Therefore, he continued, PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta has prepared several measures to ensure operations during the return flow period run smoothly. “For additional trains, we operate them from the Daop 1 Jakarta region. There are 13 additional train departures from Gambir Station and seven from Pasar Senen Station. So, a total of 20 additional train trips until 1 April,” said Franoto. In addition, Franoto also urged the public to stay orderly, especially during pickups, to ensure smooth mudik mobility. “In facing the return flow, especially those arriving at Pasar Senen Station, we urge passenger pickups not to use four-wheeled vehicles because the station’s parking capacity is limited, which could disrupt or affect the smooth flow of vehicles in the Pasar Senen Station parking area,” Franoto stated.
