Eid 2026: Pelni Ticket Discount Realisation Exceeds Projections

PT Pelni (Persero) recorded 467,662 passengers utilising the 30% sea transport discount programme during the Eid 2026 transport period. Pelni’s President Director, Tri Andayani, stated that the programme sold out faster than scheduled. “The realisation of discounted passengers reached 467,662 people, or 105% of the initial projection of 445,534,” Andayani said, as quoted from Antara on Sunday, 5 April 2026. She explained that discounted ticket sales opened on 11 February 2026 for departures from 11 March to 5 April 2026, with the government stimulus programme closing on Friday, 3 April 2026. Andayani noted that the exceedance of projections was influenced by ticket sales on short routes. “Alhamdulillah, the government’s 30% transport discount programme received a positive response from the public,” said the figure familiarly known as Anda. According to her, the quota being exhausted on 3 April 2026 proves the programme greatly assists the public in conducting Eid mudik travel at more affordable costs. Anda added that as of 4 April 2026, total national ticket sales for the departure period of 11 March-5 April 2026 reached 487,905 tickets, or 101.8% compared to the same period last year, which was 479,133 tickets. She expressed appreciation to the public for utilising the programme. “Pelni will continue to support government policies in providing affordable and quality sea transport access for the Indonesian people,” said Anda. Anda emphasised that although the number of return flow passengers has decreased, Pelni remains ready to serve all passengers maximally until the Pelni Eid transport period closes on 6 April 2026. “We hope to continue delivering better, safer, and more comfortable services for all customers in the next Eid transport,” she stated.
