The exodus for Eid 1447 H has shown significant increases in traffic volume. PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk recorded 812,342 vehicles departing the Greater Jakarta region (Jabotabek) during the period from H-10 to H-6 Eid, spanning Wednesday to Sunday, 11-15 March 2026.

This cumulative figure was tracked across four main toll gates: Cikampek Utama Gate (Trans Java direction), Kalihurip Utama Gate (Bandung direction), Cikupa Gate (Merak direction), and Ciawi Gate (Puncak direction).

Rivan A. Purwantono, President Director of PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, revealed that total traffic volume increased by 9.6 per cent compared to normal traffic conditions, which typically record around 740,988 vehicles.

The majority of travellers continue to choose the eastern route as their primary destination. The sharpest surge occurred at Cikampek Utama Gate leading to Trans Java, with an increase of 56.4 per cent above normal levels. Conversely, traffic towards Bandung via Kalihurip Utama Gate and towards Puncak via Ciawi Gate remained slightly below daily normal figures.

Peak traffic during this initial period occurred on Sunday, 15 March 2026 (H-6), with 162,129 vehicles recorded passing through—a 21.3 per cent increase from the normal daily figure of 133,637 vehicles. Rivan attributed this positive trend to two primary factors.

First is the implementation of a 30 per cent toll tariff discount applicable from Sunday, 15 March 2026 to Monday, 16 March 2026. This policy was specifically designed to distribute vehicle congestion over a wider timeframe, encouraging travellers to commence their journeys earlier.

Second is the Work From Anywhere (WFA) policy effective from Monday, 16 March 2026. This flexible working arrangement for five days (16, 17, 25, 26, and 27 March) allowed the public to schedule their travel more strategically without waiting for the official holiday period to commence.

The toll discount policy applies to road users making continuous journeys using electronic money cards across nine toll road sections operated by Jasa Marga Group.

Jasa Marga urged travellers to ensure sufficient electronic card balance before entering toll gates. Travellers were also advised to monitor traffic conditions in real-time via the Travoy application for better trip planning and comfort.

Additionally, efforts to enhance road safety and traffic management were implemented across major holiday routes. The Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) intensified vehicle roadworthiness inspections through ramp checks at Pulo Gebang Integrated Terminal as the holiday approached. Meanwhile, preparations on the Semarang-Solo Toll Road operated by PT Trans Marga Jateng ensured operational readiness for both the exodus and return traffic flow. Airport passenger activity, including at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali, showed significant increases during the initial operational days of the 2026 Eid Transport Post.
