Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has asserted that there will be no normalisation of relations with Israel without a just peace that leads to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. He made the remarks during a speech on Saturday at the inauguration of the National Strategic Command headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, east of Cairo. “There will be no lasting peace, no true stability, and no popular normalisation except through a just peace that ends the occupation, ends injustice and aggression, restores the rights of their legitimate owners, and provides security for all,” President Sisi stated. He also called for support of the ceasefire in Gaza, which came into effect in October 2025, as well as the recent framework agreement between Iran and the United States aimed at ending their conflict. He urged efforts to prevent any attempts to undermine these peace agreements.
